Environmental responsibility
As part of our commitment to sustainable greening, we work every day to reduce our carbon footprint. Our various solutions also help to reduce yours.
Our tubs, pots and urban gardens fitted with water reserve systems can reduce watering requirements by 50-70%. Controlling water consumption directly reduces our carbon footprint. Water is a crucial factor in the sustainable development of public spaces. Our connected solutions tell you exactly when to water, so you don’t have to go out and water unnecessarily.
For sustainable landscaping, we collect used plastic pots, window boxes and hanging baskets to recycle them and recreate products for urban landscaping. The recycled pots are transformed into planters, while the balconnières and hanging baskets are reused to create new flowering elements.
We are committed to eco-design and comply with the Anti waste law.
For several years now, we’ve been developing products using sustainable materials. Our pots are made from recyclable plastic, our planters from recycled and recyclable plastic, and our planters from bio-sourced plastic. We also offer seats made from recycled plastic, contributing to a more sustainable life cycle for each product.
Recently, we’ve expanded our offering to include products made from reused materials. In 2022, we designed our first urban garden, FreshCity, made from reused materials, with a base made from wood salvaged from old window frames.
To take things a step further, this year we launched a repainting service. If you have furniture that is unused because of its condition or is ageing, we can recover it, repaint it to your liking and give it a new lease of life, optimising the use of your street furniture.
Our products are designed to be repairable. For example, a seat slat can be changed. If a product is faulty, there are a number of solutions: repair it, repaint it or recycle it.
All these initiatives are being put in place to green spaces in a more environmentally-friendly way, with the aim of achieving climate neutrality by 2050 – and helping you get there too!
OUR OBJECTIVES
OBJECTIVE No. 1: We reduce our carbon footprint and help you reduce yours
To achieve climate neutrality, we first need to reduce our polluting emissions as much as possible. That’s why we’ve decided to follow the French government’s strategy of reducing pollution by 40% by 2030, as part of a low-carbon strategy.
LED lighting and installation of detectors and timers
Raising internal awareness to save energy
Air leakage management
Transition to green energy
Updating the sorting plan
Setting up compost
Raising awareness of waste sorting
Tracking material off-cuts
Non-conformity management
Installation of rainwater harvesters
Raising awareness of water management
4 electric vehicles
Transition to a fleet of hybrid vehicles for sales staff
Installation of charging stations for electric vehicles
OBJECTIVE No. 2: We are committed to eco-design and comply with the Anti waste law
Reduce your carbon footprint! Metallurgical materials are ATECH’s core business. It is therefore difficult to reduce the pollution caused by the use of these materials. However, we source materials with a lower pollution impact and are committed to an eco-design approach.
Setting up a materials library
Recycling your unused plastic pots, planters and hanging baskets
Avenues under consideration
Use of recycled or bio-sourced plastic
Using old window frames to create seats
Repainting your furniture
GOAL No. 3: We want to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, so help us green our cities!
Finally, ATECH wants to offset all its remaining polluting emissions. Absorbing greenhouse gases through vegetation is therefore the most obvious solution. What’s more, thanks to this strategy, ATECH is continuing to act locally.
