The presence of vegetation in urban areas, and particularly trees, is not a notion to be neglected. Whether it is a question of (re)planting trees in the city or protecting existing ones, their presence is important and meets many objectives.

Trees support biodiversity. They help to clean up the atmosphere, store carbon, prevent drought and floods… They also participate in urban landscaping and improve the living environment.

The development project for this municipality was to protect the existing trees by surrounding them with a seat. The urban garden was therefore the solution.

ATECH designed and manufactured custom-made bottomless planters to fit the size of the tree locations. Some of them were made with bamboo seats. These made-to-measure urban gardens were manufactured in brightly painted steel, in an unusual blue, in the image of the city’s new graphic charter.

Thanks to these made to measure urban gardens, the trees have found a second life and the market place of Montmorillon a new breath.
